So do you recall what you were doing the day Netscape went public?

Or more to the point, the day Jerry Garcia died, 9th August, 1995.

I was working at Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco, in the Home Health department. I'm pretty sure I heard it on the radio on the way into the office, though I might only have heard when [info]hopita called me.

I think it's a pretty safe bet that I was conducting research for my BA Dissertation somewhere in the Ottawa Valley. Carleton University, The Inuit Tapirisat or the National Library of Canada, perhaps.

Could even be the day I (accidentally) broke all the photocopiers in the National Library and nearly got myself banned. I was experiencing a bit of a news blackout, so I'm not sure I would have heard about either of these events...

That wasn't a very interesting comment, was it? :-P

i was staying with a friend in woodstock, ny. got up that morning put on the dead shirt i bought at the harvet tour the previous fall and went out for coffee. didnt know about jerry until someone on the street started hugging me.
